This Supernatural Story
The acclaimed director tests his creative boundaries with this innovative supernatural story filmed completely through the eyes of the phantom. The daughter appears conscious of the ghostly being, and it seems guarding her. Yet what is the reason? The premise is enjoyable that doesn't outstay its welcome, featuring a surprise that may be unexpected. October 11th, afternoon and evening times, Sky Cinema
The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent
Cage embraces his eccentric image via this self-referential adventure. The Black Phone
Derrickson's locked-room horror remains effective without requiring a follow-up. Taking place in the late 70s in Denver, a series of kidnappings has rendered the youth on edge. After Finney is kidnapped by “the Grabber” and imprisoned in a basement, he anticipates a terrible outcome. However, the old telephone mounted nearby continues to ring, with eerie communicators offering help, while the intuitive nightmares of his sister Gwen may be his salvation. A solid creepfest. Saturday 11 October, 10.50pm, on Film4
The Eyes of Tammy Faye
In the battle between faith and wealth, the winner is obvious for Mammon in Michael Showalter's delightfully tacky film adaptation of the disgraced religious broadcaster plus her lawbreaking partner. The actor acts as the greedy Jim, who states at the beginning, claiming divine approval for wealth. The couple set about monetising the people's spiritual convictions. It's a riot of tacky decor, overdone appearance and insincerity, however Jessica Chastain succeeds to present Tammy Faye as a sympathetic figure. October 14th, 1.15am, on Film4
Black Bag
This period's another release by the same director presents a spy mystery as precise like the turtlenecks worn by the actor's intelligence officer. Tom Burke, Regé-Jean Page, Naomie Harris and Marisa Abela participate the intelligent intelligence fun. October 17th, various showings, the Sky channel
